I entered this competition for the first time this year so it was a nice surprise to find one of my images made it through to the Black and White category of the book.
The title of the competition may be a misnomer and I think the secondary title of Images of a Green Planet better describes a whole range of wonderful imagery from all over the world. The winning picture was quite a stunner from Brazil.
It was nice to be invited to the launch of the book and exhibition of the images at Kew Gardens a week ago. There really are some remarkable images to be seen. They certainly gave me food for thought, a euphemism for some ideas! The exhibition tours the country, as well as farther afield. Locally it will be at RHS Gardens Hyde Hall from 22nd March to 29th April. Well worth a visit.
The book is also a worthy addition to the bookshelves of anyone interested in floral photography in all its various forms.
